NEW! Master and commander
AUD $183

The boozy nose was rich and intoxicating; PX sherry, strawberry wine and scrumpy cider were all mentioned in rapid succession, followed by Kahlua. Beneath the booze (although still interwoven), we found Xmas cake, crème brulee, sherry trifle and tiramisu. The full bodied taste had creme caramel, onion chutney, raisin and cake mix; cherry pie, blueberries and prunes came later. The reduced nose brought plums and prunes alongside ginger biscuits and dark chocolate cherries. Coffee beans and spices brought thoughts of Old Colonnial days. This theme continued on tasting; an old leather pipe tobacco pouch, gunpowder, coconut milk and Brazil nuts. Owned by the Loch Lomond Company, this is the other distillery (of two) in Campbeltown.

Local Panel Comments:

Sherry gordas always arouse interest and this is no exception. This has resulted in glorious and delicious honey flavours that merge uniquely with the industrial characteristics that typify malts from this distillery. Yummy and fun.
