Membership

Membership to the Society is on a yearly basis. Upon joining the Society you will receive a Membership pack to start you off on your curious whisky adventure - details below. As a Member, you will automatically receive invites to Society tastings and Member only events where you will have the opportunity to meet other members and discuss your mutual interest - whisky!

In addition, as a member you will have the opportunity to purchase the wide range of unique and rare Society bottlings (only available to Members) as well as whisky gifts and accessories, all showcased in the Whisky & Gift Shop sections. Members also have access to Members' Rooms in London, Edinburgh and Switzerland, and a Tasting Bar in Tokyo, when travelling overseas. Please go to our 'visiting the UK' page for more information.

Membership Pack

Your Membership welcome pack consists of:

•  a curiously layered and luxurious Membership Box containing four Society single cask single malt whiskies, a Members Handbook, a Notebook for your own personal Tasting Notes and a lapel badge.
•  A Society membership card (issued by Head Office in Scotland) providing access to Members Rooms in Edinburgh, London and Switzerland, Society apartments in Edinburgh and a Tasting Bar in Tokyo 
• A welcome letter with your Membership number and website log-in details, a current Bottling List and Newsletter and any other current Society literature to start you off on your whisky adventure!  

This is a global whisky club and all members are entitled to attend worldwide Society tastings and events in any of the other 12 countries where we are active. Since the number of countries continues to expand please see the latest listing on the Home Page under SMWS Worldwide.
