Welcome to the home page of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society in Australia.

If you are already a member, you can go straight to the Whisky Pages where you can view the selection of cask strength malt whisky bottlings available from Australian stocks. As a Scotch Malt Whisky Society Member you can order whisky, improve your tasting knowledge & check for upcoming tastings on the Calendar of Events page.

If you are not a member, welcome! Whether your interest is for yourself or for a whisky loving friend, please feel free to browse around the site. The Membership section will tell you everything about the Society and the benefits of membership. The "about the whisky" area will provide you with a complete background to the whiskies available in Australia, the distilleries, a background to whisky itself and a guide to improving your own taste appreciation.

Regular malt whisky tastings and events are held at venues around Australia, where members and guests taste a variety of whiskies and meet other members in an atmosphere of conviviality and relaxation. Click here for a description of a typical tasting, including an overview of the usual proceedings, how the tastings are run and the type of whiskies selected. Why not come along to one of our tastings to see what all the fuss is about - just refer to our Calendar of Events page for details of the next tasting in your area.

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society - Whisky Collection

The Society imports single cask single malt whiskies purchased directly from Scottish distilleries by the Society Head Office in Edinburgh. Before these reach our shores they are blind tasted by the Society's Tasting Panel in Scotland and then by our own Local Tasting Panel in Australia - only the cream of the crop get through! In Australia, we import a new selection of whiskies at least four times a year, so the range is constantly changing.

To view our current range, browse round the Whisky Shop and read about the plethora of whisky gems we have on our shelves. These are all from single casks, and once the bottles are gone, they are gone forever...!
